Introduction
Welcome to Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Balangir. Since the year 2018, CRC Balangir functions under the administrative control of the SVNIRTAR (Swami Vivekanand Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research, Cuttack, Odisha. Through CRC, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India strives to empower the Persons with Disabilities to realize their fullest potential and participate equally in all aspects of life. The centre has been providing comprehensive rehabilitation services such as Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, Speech & Hearing, Prosthesis & Orthosis, Clinical Psychology, and Special Education services. Besides providing mobility and hearing aids, vocational guidance & counselling, to persons with disabilities for the people in the northern revenue division of Odisha. The institute also conducts out-reach Camp services to the Persons with Disabilities and organizes skill-training programs.

Objectives
i. To serve as resource center for rehabilitation and special education of persons with disabilities
ii. To establish linkages with existing medical, educational and employment services, following the principles of community-based rehabilitation and offer extension services in the rural areas.
iii.To stimulate growth of services by encouraging and supporting voluntary organizations, parent groups and self-help groups.
iv.To undertake human resource development by training rehabilitation professionals, village level workers, multi rehabilitation workers and other functionaries in Govt. and Non-Govt. sector for
providing services for the differently abled group of people.
v.To develop strategies for delivery of rehabilitation services suitable to the social – cultural background of the region.
vi.To undertake Research and Development with specific reference to needs of diverse groups of people with disability, keeping in view the nature and severity of disability in the region.
vii.To undertake Public Education programmes for creation of awareness in the parents and the community.
viii.To undertake designing, fabrication and fitment of aids and appliances.
ix.To undertake service of education and skill development leading to enhancement of opportunities for employment, rehabilitation,mobility, communication, recreation and integration in society.
