The Department has one well equipped state-of-art workshop with necessary tools, equipments and machineries to provide for services to Persons with Disabilities.
Physical disabilities restrict the individual to perform activities as a productive member of the Society. The factor influences the productivity of a Person with Disabilities due to nature of disabilities which constraint a person’s capacity for self directed purposeful movement. Walking is the most common form of mobility for human beings and the mode is walking most desired by the people for movement. The Prosthetic and Orthotic Devices and other rehabilitation aids assist the Person with Disabilities to achieve a level of performance that at best approaches that of the able-bodied person. The department has well equipped Prosthetics and Orthotics Workshop, Prosthetic and Orthotic professionals who design, fabricate and fit suitable and appropriate prosthetics and orthotics devices for persons with disabilities.
